MinPlex® Chromium
The Stabilized Organic Chromium for All Livestock Species

Role of Chromium in Livestock
The dietary importance Chromium as a nutrient was established first in human safe decades ago and then in animals. Chromium derives its significance being a constituent of Glucose Tolerance Factor (GTF), an organometallic molecule composed of trivalent Chromium, nicotinic acid, glutamic acid, glycine andcysteine. GTF promotes glucose utilization function of Insulin by actively binding Insulin to its receptor sites on cell membrane. Chromium promotes the functions of Somatotrophic Hormone/Growth Hormone and the reproductive hormones. Chromium is also re-ported to promote both antibody and cell mediated immune mechanisms of body. Chromium exists in two forms, trivalent and hexavalent. The hexavalent Chromium can rapidly diffuse into cells, but is highly toxic in nature. Trivalent Chromium is recognized as a nutrient, required in extremely small quantities. Supplementation of Chromium in diets has shown beneficial results in utilization of carbohydrate energy sources in feed and in improving meat quality parameters in all animals. In ruminants, Chromium supplementation favourably influences quality and quantity of milk, meat and wool production. Chromium is absorbed from the intestine and its absorption is poor with very limited storage in body. Inorganic salts of Chromium are very poorly absorbed, and were used as markers in nutritional bioassays. Manifestation of Chromium deficiency is very rare owing to its very low levels of requirement; however its supplementation has definite benefits in terms of productivity. Chromium can be supplemented in both organic and inorganic forms.

Why Organic Chromium
Inorganic supplementation of Chromium as its salts has unreliable solubility and poor bioavailability of mineral. The need for a precise and reliable source was felt which resulted in evolution of organic forms of Chromium. Of various forms available in the market, Chromium chelates and complexes with amino acids have been proven as useful tools in Chromium supplementation. Organic forms stable in various pH levels of the gut have been proven to offer highest bioavailability.

DESCRIPTION
MinPlex® Chromium is an amino acid chelate of elemental trivalent Chromium developed by design of research to be stable in a wide range of gut pH for superior bioavailability.

FEATURES
• MinPlex® Chromium is elemental trivalent Chromium chelated with amino acids
• MinPlex® Chromium is optimally stabilized that maintains the molecule intact in a wide range of pH between 2.0 and 7.2

BENEFIT
• MinPlex® Chromium offers superior bioavailability of elemental trivalent Chromium
• MinPlex® Chromium is stable in presence of other chelating agents and bioinhibitors in feed
• MinPlex® Chromium improves general thriftiness and improves growth and weight gain
